OpenForum Europe is growing! We are proud to welcome a new colleague to our Brussels office, Leandra. She joins us as Policy Assistants under the CIP scheme of Bruxelles Formation.
Leandra is especially interested in infrastructure policy and geopolitical dynamics in tech policy. She completed her Master’s degree in Political Science at the University of Amsterdam, where she focused on topics such as data protection, digital rights, migration technology and critical socio-legal approaches.

At the EU Open Source Policy Summit 2025, Markus Rettstatt emphasised prioritising open source projects and developers, supporting new entrants, and avoiding politicisation to prevent alienating the global developer network. The 2026 Summit will examine how Europe can govern open source and what concrete steps policymakers must take to harness its full potential at scale and with speed.
