Fresh from the workshop:
Inspired by a variable font that follows curves (https://www.futurefonts.com/hex/shop-sans), Hans & Mikael implemented a MetaFun function* that can adapt type to curves.
*) ATM “lmt_oscillated”, might change.
Apparently, “zines” are a thing again (or never stopped).
Of course you can make some with #ConTeXt, look into the imposition options!

There’s also an option for one-sided, 8-page booklets (AKA PocketMod https://pocketmod.com):
\setuparranging[1*8]

You’re invited to our regular online meet-up, this upcoming

This is usually a Q&A with the developers and chat about current projects.
#ConTeXt users of all levels are welcome!
Taco worked on our servers, and now the archive of the mailing lists is searchable again, and faster than before:

Today’s small update for #ConTeXt #LMTX fixes the win32 binary (there‘s one user who needs it) and adds the sources of the new column sets manual (in progress).
Today’s update for #ConTeXt #LMTX contains, apart from a few catches (like a math accent and some improvements in columnsets), additions in the metafun department and increases performance a bit.
Details see https://mail-archive.com/ntg-context@ntg.nl/msg111326.html
The 31st #BachoTeX conference will also be a #EuroTeX thus its official name:
#EuroBachoTeX 2026. Perhaps it is high time: there was no EuroTeX since 2013
(https://www.gust.org.pl/bachotex/2013).
Save the date: April 28th to May 3rd.
Organized by GUST (PL) & DANTE (DE), involvement from other TUGs, especially European, is most welcome.

Here's a blog post by “Thangalin” that explores creating configurable cover letters using #ConTeXt. The gist is the ability to run two commands (wget "logo" + build "colour1" "colour2" "colour3") to rebuild a cover letter tailored for a company's brand.

Seyal Zavira just released “TypoGraphizer”, a Python tool for creating font specimens, based on #ConTeXt #LMTX.
➤ Multilingual and real-world test texts (English, Arabic, Persian, emojis, etc.)
➤ Full OpenType feature control (ss01, liga, dlig, etc.)
➤ Automatic typescript generation
➤ Batch scanning of entire font folders
➤ Print-quality PDF specimens
Next year’s #ConTeXt meeting now has a subject:
